Located in Clarke Street in the Parkes Industrial Estate, the tank business was started in Penrith in 1972
It relocated the entire manufacturing facility and head office to Parkes in 2003 – and has not looked back since, expanding to such an extent that at one point, more than 50 people were employed.
The Chemstore Group is a family owned company, operated by Nelson Pridham and his sons, Jerry and Sam.
The move was because Parkes is conveniently situated at the centre of the road and rail link between Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and is also positioned on the main rail line from Sydney to Perth and Adelaide to Darwin.
This provides a prime location and accessibility to all of Australia’s capital cities, managing director, Jerry Pridham explained.
Chemstore has developed vast knowledge in the industry through three generations of family.
They have more than 100 years of combined experience in the design, manufacture and supply of fibreglass reinforced plastic (FRP) chemical storage, transport and process tanks, plus other specialized composite products.
More recently, the company has signed exclusive rights to become the sole Australian distributor for the world-renowned Permastore range of Glass-Fused-to-Steel tanks and silos.
Through dedication to delivering the highest quality products and 100% customer satisfaction, the company has gone from strength to strength, and doubled in size since the move to Parkes.
Chemstore now employees a total number of 37 employees; 33 of which are local residents.
Some work in the office in management, administrative, marketing, sales and project management roles, but the majority work in the manufacturing process of the tanks.
The company continually invests in research and development to remain at the forefront of the industry, and to offer new products and solutions to emerging markets and needs.
A couple of new products recently developed are FRP water cartage/spray tanks, and industrial water tanks.
With the bushfire season approaching, these tanks will no doubt prove valuable and useful assets locally.
